These ancient pots have already lived a long life in primitive Europe. They were originally hand made and used to cook meat over an open fire. They are made in this vase shape as it helps to keep the meat juices from bubbling out when cooking. They were then buried underground when they were thought to be too old and have recently been dug up like treasure. Their beautiful aged and blackened patina comes from their time over the open flame and their time underground has helped preserve them until today. Each pot is, of course, unique.
